How NOT to give a compliment

Not sure why I'm surprised by this magnificent example of TMI  (too much information) from actress Jane Fonda. After all, she has lived almost every moment on the screen and has written a handful of "tell all" books. Why would she stop when the subject is sex in her 70's?

Or, in Jane's own words "I'm having the best sex of my life."

Must we?

Apparently she has found "true intimacy" with her new beau, 70 year old Richard Perry. She continues: "When I had my knee replaced just over two and a half years ago, I found a lover. His name is Richard Perry, he is 70 and he is a music producer. When I moved in with him I was still using crutches; we haven't been apart since." (Makes it sound like he came free with the knee replacement doesn't she?)

But here's the weirdest part. She adds, touchingly: "Often, when we make love, I see him as he was 30 years ago."

Is it just me or is that the most back-handed compliment ever given?

The lusty couple.

  1. Hmmm. What's that very American word? Barf? Yes, that. Just a bit.

Or, in the words of Charlie Brown, "Good grief!"

  3. Back handed compliment or just foot in mouth? I'm brilliant at those...

  4. Definitely TMI....I wonder what her man makes of it all? Although possibly, he loves it.

  5. OK, I'm going there - he's not exactly a "looker" now, so perhaps the only way she can get through it is to think of a younger version of him? (I know - below the belt, but hey - you're all thinking it.)

  6. Mind you it was TMI when she was the first woman filmed on the loo in the 1970s. For a film not just because someone wanted to see inside her bathroom.

  7. Nit sure we really want to know all about her love life no matter how old she feels or sees her man!

  9. Everything about Jane is better left unsaid. Remember her and Ted Turner? She likes 'em old. Well, it's your blog and you can put anyone's picture in it you want. :)

    Barbarella, what happened to you?

  10. Well, I know it's TMI, but it's quite encouraging to hear someone talking about sex in their 70s as the best sex of their lives...
