Geordie Humour
Where I'm from in the North East of England, the people are called Geordies and their accent is often quite distinctive. They also have a really dry sense of humour which is evident in this You Tube link. It's an audio and absolutely hilarious.
Non-Brits, and even non-Geordies, - can you understand what he's saying?
And my question - at what point does the customer service lady realise that this might not be for real?
PS. Argos is a catalogue company where you go to the shop/store, pick the number out of the catalogue, stand in line for years and years while they bring your chosen item up to the front desk. A bit of a strange concept when you think about it.

Love it! It has the scent of Cramlington!!
ReplyDeleteThankfully, years of watching Byker Grove prepared me for this, otherwise I'd be lost.
ReplyDeleteha ha! You know they are casting for the UK equivalent of Jersey Shore..Geordie Shore. They want um vulgar looking ladies to let it all hang out for reality tv you get the picture ....http://t.co/KhqARr8 I can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteEmma - I know. Jersey Shore won't have anything on it. I'm dreading it to be honest, but then chavs (or charvers as they call them) always do bring out the complete snob in me.
ReplyDeleteYes, I understood all that - except the occasional word. But my mum calls me 'Pet', so it's in my blood somewhere.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the customer service lady did realise!
This just made my day!
ReplyDeleteon a serious note. I am not liking the jersey shore thing!!
ReplyDeletePost a Bobby Thompson video and see if anyone can understand that.
ReplyDeleteJo-jo, I know. It was bad enough (but true) with Viz's fat slags. Gowd knows what they're going to dredge up. Hopefully if they find some Geordies with a bit of spon they'll have a bit more class! Not!
ReplyDeleteBobby Thompson - blast from the past.
ReplyDeleteFunnily enough..... I understood all of it? Wasn't she patient!

Nuts in May
Too funny! But definitely understandable.
ReplyDeleteVery good.
ReplyDeleteI was clubbing in Newcastle once long ago, with a southerner who thought it would be good to request the locals to "Gis a bag of Tudor" in his version of Geordie. I was advised this was a local version of requesting crisps.
For the record, I would like to thank the locals for not thumping him, and in a collateral damage sort of way, me.
You are a Geordie??!!! I could have never guessed. You don't sound like Cheryl Cole, that's for sure.
