Shreddies - Very Special Underwear

So, I think I know what the men in my house will be getting for Christmas.

Shreddies.

Thay also do ladies'.

For the uninitiated (or the non-British) shreddies is a nickname sometimes used for underwear. Apparently it's has military origins.

But these Shreddies aren't your normal underwear. Apparently they help with er, how can I put this delicately, - flatulence.

Gawd knows how they work but there's a hilarious review of them here, where they're called "fart-filtering". I don't know how that filtering works nor where the farts go if they're not allowed to roam free.

According to the manufacturer - "Shreddies flatulence filtering underwear features a ‘Zorflex’ activated carbon back panel that absorbs all flatulence odours. Due to its highly porous nature, the odour vapours become trapped and neutralised by the cloth, which is then reactivated by simply washing the garment."

OK wait. I'm a little confused. "Reactivated by simply washing the garment". What on earth  does that mean. The farts are reactivated when they hit the spin cycle?

Yes, very confused. And having second thoughts.

  2. I have never heard of Shreddies for underwear....my boys would find that hilarious, as it's their favourite cereal. As for the fart filter, the mind boggles....although if it really worked I would certainly buy the children some.

  4. Am familiar with the word "shreddies' for undies and quite like the sound of these fart filters. My hubby and son both wear 'bawbags' - a great Scottish term for under crackers - bags for yer baws (balls). Every year they get some for Christmas from the Bawbag company!
