Nappy Valley Girl tagged me just when I had run out of ideas for a new post. See the end for my tagees, if that's a word.
1. What are your current obsessions?
Trying to keep my head above water. I seem to have been saying that for many years now. It's probably less an obsession and just a way of life.
2. Which item from your wardrobe do you wear most often?
My workout gear because my chiropractor says I have to wear trainers/sneakers and
I'm NOT wearing them with normal clothes.
3. What's for dinner?
No idea. I'm not usually this lax but the only thing I have is pork, and we've had it twice this week already. We have a great corner shop which I use more than I should, so I will wander over there later. Besides, I have to take the Ball & Chain and Mr. Minimal to a baseball game half an hour away, so that B&C can show him how and where to get the bus back should he ever need it. I will leave it till next week to tell Mr. Minimal that he'd better get used to the bus route.
4. Last thing you bought?
Furry dice in the Chicago Cubs (baseball) colours to go in my car! (Unleashing my inner chav!)
5. What are you listening to?
The Wonderpets singing about a baby cow. The 5 year old is off school with suspected conjunctivitis, therefore he's sitting in front of the TV.
6. Favourite kids' film?
Jungle Book. Oldies are the goldies.
7. Favourite holiday spots?
Puerto Rico; London; Copper Mountain, Colorado.
8. What are you reading right now?
I've just abandoned "Freddy and Fredericka" by Mark Helperin as it was becoming too ridiculous. It's about a fictitious Prince and Princess of Wales, thinly disguised (Charles and Di). The character portrayals are quite funny but they are dumped in the USA with no clothing and money, and the whole thing is just making me tense!! When you have my life, you don't need added stress.
9. Four words to describe yourself?
Busy, funny, loyal, and, um, oh yes, forgetful.
10. Guilty pleasure?
Pinot Grigio. Oh, and not getting out of bed at 7am.
11. Who or what can make you laugh until you're weak?
Author Laurie Notaro - The Idiot Girls Club. Check her out.
12. First spring thing?
A lilac bush that's just about to bud. It's still a bit cold here in Chicago.
13. Planning to travel to next?
Copper Mountain, Colorado in June. England and Ibiza (agh!) in August.
14. Best thing you ate and drank recently?
A Marguerilla cocktail at the Rain Forest Cafe last Saturday. It wasn't particularly alcoholic, and a bit too sweet really, but it FELT so decadent.
15. When did you last get tipsy?
I don't really get tipsy. I just fall asleep these days!
16. Favourite ever film?
Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Not sure why but I used to know and sing all the words with my old mate Drunk Mummy.
17. Care to share some wisdom?
Little kids, little problems; big kids, big problems. Believe me.
18. What new TV shows/programmes are you watching?
BBC America's "Mistresses". It's new over here and I'm hooked even though I know that there's no way in real life that four close friends could have such crazy and dysfunctional lives.

LOL..I'm sitting doing this meme myself...but wilL save the posting for a rainy -er dAY!! GOOD FUN THOUGH!!
ReplyDeletehow funny, have just done this one myself, but from a different person so quite a few of the questions have changed, although the horror of sharing wisdom remains - and yours is very horridm!
ReplyDeleteWell I guess I'd better get this done today, as now 3 people have tagged me for it!!
ReplyDeleteIt is fun though and I enjoyed your answers.
OK, your shared wisdom has scared me (as it was intended to). Now I need chocolate.
ReplyDeleteI'm with PM (above) - don't scare me!
ReplyDeleteThe first series of Mistresses was indeed good, if totally un-believable. But if they show the second series, don't bother, let's just say suspension of disbelief is off the flipping radar....
Gawd - has every last one of us succumbed to this meme?
ReplyDeleteJust got caught up on the sage of your back. Isn't it awful? I hope you get some relief and can leave the running shoes behind.
One day I will give you all examples of BIG problems, - most of them are my friends' kids' thank god. I don't let mine out of the house.
ReplyDeleteMistresses - Where to begin (another post). I think I 'm addicted because it's Bristol, where I was at uni, altho when I was there it rained all the time. It was never that sunny but I wasn't there in the summer so what do I know.
We are up to the part where Siobhan's photos have been sent to her husband and ex-lurverr. Also, the soppy guy's wife with Altheimers has just been revealed, katie has chucked the doc after chucking the younger doc, and um the beautiful younger party planner has confronted her husband about bedding his assistant. (I would be insisting on a pink slip there.)
DOn't tell me because the BBC web site gives it all away anyway!
And how come they live in Brizzle, and not one of them has the Brizzle west country accent?
ReplyDeleteI can vouch for the big problem thing. It came home to me when I could no longer make whatever was bugging them disappear with the a trip to MaccyD (yes, it was a treat in our house!).
ReplyDeleteLiked your Meme, Ezpatmum, more a case of 'tell it like it is' than some of them.
Yes, I'm definitely a WYSIWYG - What you see is what you get.
ReplyDeleteHi Expatmum, and thank you so much for tagging me - I've just been over for a read, and will definitely do it, it's just that I'm off to Tenerife at 6 in the morning! Please may I do it when I get back, in a week? Also, thank you for telling me, at last, what WYSIWYG means.. M xxx
ReplyDeleteMargot - just make us all jealous why don't you? Have a great time.
ReplyDeleteLove Mistresses too! And Tudors and Shameless. I do miss English telly, don't you ....
ReplyDeleteI love reading memes like this. I'm having a 'no inspiration' night so this will do nicely. Ta. :D
ReplyDeleteAnd Miss M was watching Wonder Pets earlier and it was about a bird being trapped up the Statue of Liberty's nose. She thought it was hilarious, and I kind of had to agree.
You know, I had exactly the same reaction as you to the idea of going to Ibiza. And then when I went for the first time, I realised what an amazingly beautiful place it was, with fantastic restaurants and an amazing coastline. The British idiots who populate San Antonio are eminently avoidable, don't worry!
