Apologies my fellow Brits

I thought it would be a long night. I thought there would be much argument. I thought there would be ramifications for days to come.

No - I'm not talking about who's going to empty the dishwasher here.

I'm talking about the US Presidential results. I confidently told many UK Twitter friends and family not to stay up - it would be at least midnight Central time (6am UK time) before any results would be in.

I'm sorry.

But I'm SO not.

  1. I didn't even bother looking at the online news sites because I honestly expected it would take ages for all the arguing and voter fraud accusations to die down. It never occurred to me that the results could possibly be in this soon- imagine my shock when my son IMd me with the news. This is the first time I've ever learned the outcome of a general election via FaceBook.

  3. I told my people here not to expect any results until midday or even into the evening GMT. I am glad I was wrong! For days I have been dreading the expect recounts and incriminations and lawsuits and what-have-you. It's over; can we all go back to being friends now ;)

  4. Me too, I didn't even bother knowing the US Presidential result. Until now, I still don't know who won. Good thing I stumbled on your blog site.

  6. I too just found out via Facebook... Hadn't even bothered to check the news as was so sure there'd be no result yet...

  8. Thank goodness America saw sense.
I do wonder if the storm had something to do with his final surge. While the response has not been perfect, Obama has had the right attitude, whereas Romney didn't do/say much, and maybe people thought about their priorities - a country that will look after you - rather than trying to get rich.

  9. Joy, joy, and more joy. I get goosebumps just thinking about it. Even though I had to be up at work for 5AM, I stayed up to watch his acceptance speech. Four more years, for hope, for change, for working together (blue and red and all in between), and for what America really stands for.
