Proof that I'm a really good mother!

In addition to my fabulous culinary efforts, it became obvious over weekend that my motherliness knows no bounds.

Here's a story the Little Guy decided to compose on his white board. (I'll translate below. The teacher told them it was okay to write phoenetically right now, and he seems to be making this his life's mission.)

Once upon a time a little boy (him) was walking with his mom.
He almost tripped. (He did.) His mom catched (sic) him. The boy thanked her.
The End.

It's all true. We were in fact walking to school over a thin sheet of ice last week. If he hadn't been holding my hand it could've been very nasty. Just in case you can't quite make out the look of motherly concern on my face, here it is again:

Just look at that concerned expression. (That's me with the long hair BTW.) And didn't I tell you I don't mind wearing skinny jeans - with legs like this, do I have any other option?

  2. Nope, I didnt need a translation either. I think everyone should write phonetically anyway. It might discourage the grammar/spelling police! Or maybe then there would be phonetic police...

Anyway, this is really cute. I love these things and its great to make a post out of it--lots of awwww factor. ;) Ive saved several little notes and Letters to Santa etc mine have done for this reason alone!

  5. Oh, I understood that perfectly, didn't need the translation. You really do have VERY skinny legs you know! Also, oddly, I was actually taught using a phonetic reading scheme in the 1960s, so for about a year (I think they dropped it after about 1 year, the parents probably couldnt read it) thats what my books looked like!

  16. And "he thanked her", so you've taught them impeccable manners to boot.
