Knickers in A Twist

It's stories like this that I really missed when not living in the UK. Did you hear about the knicker revolt a few weeks ago in Colyton, Devon? No.

Pop over to my column at Anglotopia and read about it, then tell me what you think. Is it ever OK to hang your smalls where the general public can see them? I love a good washing line, but I doubt if I'd ever hang my stuff where people passing by could see it.

  1. That is too funny! As you know, over here most of us use the dryer - but if I did hang my clothes out I don't think I could put the unmentionables out on the line for the world to see.

    1. Me neither. Mine are very boring but still....

  2. Thank God for the Internet, because now people who would have been too (rightfully) embarrassed to complain about something so trivial can do it anonymously. Really, some people have too much angst on their hands. But well done to the people of Colyton for fighting back.

    1. I know right! It's a bit like when my hub put a "Cubs Only" parking sign on the wall of our garage (which is at the front) and within a week we were politely asked by management to take it down. Someone had obviously complained to the admin office.

  3. I love stories like this! I love a good rebellion! There is so much nastiness in the world right now, that being reminded there are fun trivialities is good for the soul. About hanging out your undies in front of your house? On your own territory? Unless you've signed a "homeowners association" contract that says you can't I say go for it. Not sure I would do it, but that is besides the point.
