Later

So, we're off to meet the Ball & Chain in Ibiza (the quiet bit) for a week. He's complaining that he has all day to get from Gatwick to Heathrow. At least he was until I reminded him that I'm travelling with three kids and our flight (a no-frills affair) straddles dinner time. Once we land I will have to collect a car and find Portinaxt, in the dark. Seemed to silence him somewhat.

I have written a bit of a post on the other blog, about what's it's been like "coming home", but I just wanted you all to share my joy when I saw these in Asda last week:

  2. Yeah, you win. Has he heard of the phenomenon "a good book and a Starbucks"? The hardship.

    Ugh on the crisps.

  5. I don't envy you the trip. Airline stewards always compliment me on how well-behaved my two under-5s are on flights back home to the UK - not many of them realise though that the quietness of the child is directly proportional to the amount of work Mama's putting in to KEEP them quiet!! Have a good holiday.

How funny, my first ever holiday sans parents and with a friend was to Portinax at 18yrs old. I have some fab memories and piccies from there, enjoy!

  9. Too funny. I know what you mean though. When I came back to the US I spent hours looking at the items in the grocery aisles from my childhood (not that I could eat any of that stuff anymore, too many Es, but it was fun looking!)

    Have a wonderful trip.

  13. darn, I'm gutted, I've just got back from the UK & I NEVER spotted MARMITE crisps :-(
I seem to spend my life flying alone with my children. Hubby only gets 20 days a yr (I know in America that's aeons) but the kids get a TWELVE wk summer vacation. And everyone leaves Albania in the summer (locals to the beach, ex pats to 'home')SO I leave too. Hubby stays put, holds the fort & seem sto rather relish temporary bachelordom
